am I the only ... just wondering (go back »)

But am I the only person who has issues when people use other people's designs in layouts? 
I'm not basing this off here, completely. 

Like - it really bothers me when I see people use something off deviantart or threadless in a layout.   I don't have any reason why, besides that it doesn't feel right to me.  Plus, I've jumped through hoops the only time I can remember using an image from deviantart.  I left the deviant a note, then  I messaged for permission to use it, then I screencapped my permission to use it, then I attached it in an image when I put up the design (said design is NOT here, so don't look).


Does anyone else ever have an inherent emotional/mental response when they see that sort of stuff occur?  And have you ever said something directly to the person making the layout?  Or have you ever contacted the original artist about it?

I'm guilty of contacting the original artist, only once, but I did it and she thanked me like it was no big deal.  But I've called two people out on it - but ONLY when they didn't even pretend to mention it wasn't their work.  It's different to me when they link to the original photograph/design/banner/etc and when they're just like "by me".  It's like "wtf?  you idiot."
